Do + Don’t with Art / Frames
A good frame can enhance any artwork - bring out colors or forms from within the piece. It can change the tone of a work from just ok to super chic. However, when installing art in a home, I don’t obsess over its frame.
I want to see something that protects the art and looks nice with the work itself. When I hang art salon style on a wall, I don’t worry if the frames match or not. I love mixing imagery and ideas. Mixing different frame styles usually adds to the quirky and uniqueness of the art. I prioritize the overall layout and vibe that a salon wall is giving.
When in doubt, I usually lean toward a clean, white modern frame. What have you done with your frames at home?
