Mindful Living in NY

I love living in New York City, but its intensity can be overwhelming at times. The heat in the summer, the crowds in the subway, and the over-achieving lifestyles are a lot! Among the chaos, I try to create a sanctuary at home through feng shui and aspire to mindful living within this space.

What are some aspirational vibes in my space?

  1. A clean entry way that has at least one beautiful thing to invite you in. Right now, it’s a shiny, METAL hand sculpture. This particular element brings in joy.

  2. A place that each family member can retreat to and feel that they have their own individualized spot. Imagine tweens hiding out in their rooms, but the space is comfortable and relaxed. I let them switch up colors and styles to reflect who they are. Earth tones are particularly grounding and stabilizing.

  3. Displaying objects that mirror your current state of mind. At the moment, I have my favorite teapots by my dining table next to a new painting made by a friend. Objects of affection stimulate positive feelings!
